Full description and specifications

Citrus aurantium canaliculata or bitter orange - striped fruits, with an unusual appearance, very decorative, with a sweet-sour or bitter taste. The juice extracted from ripe fruits is sweet. From a commercial point of view, the fruits are used for marmalades.

Old variety, cultivated in Tuscany since the 16th century. It is a plant of medium vigor, with beautiful leaves of an intense green. White, large and fragrant flowers. The medium-sized fruit is orange, striped. Due to the abundance and uniqueness of its fruits, it is a very interesting variety from an ornamental point of view.

The plant was discovered in the gardens of the Medici family.

It withstands up to -7°C or even -10°C in protected spaces, such as unheated greenhouses.
