Encyclia (Prostechea) Green Hornet

The Encyclia orchid is native to tropical America and the West Indies, but also grows in Mexico and South America. In their native habitat, these orchids grow on trees and shrubs and prefer climates with wet and dry seasons. Some of the species are lithophytes, but most are epiphytes and grow well on wood, cork, tree bark and pots in fast-draining environments such as fir bark.
