Jasmine - Jasminum sambac - extremely fragrant

A symbol of purity and sensuality, Jasminum sambac has impressed the whole world.

It is a variety of jasmine with aromatic properties and double white flowers, strongly scented. As they mature, the flowers turn pink.

In China, the flowers are used to prepare the famous jasmine teas. In France, the plant has inspired countless perfumes produced by designers. In the world, Jasminum sambac oil is a symbol of romance and is used extensively as an aphrodisiac, and the cosmetics industry uses it including in creams, shampoos, soaps, etc.

Last but not least, the plant was awarded by the RHS with the Royal Horticultural Society's Award.

Jasminum sambac flowers show a very high variability, possibly as a result of spontaneous mutations, natural hybridization and self-pollination. Despite the fact that it is a variety with double flowers, in some cases the flowers will be single or mixed.
